What is the definition of an “Otaku”?

For me, it means someone who is obsessed with animu. From unhealthy obsessions that may have possibly contributed to the latest killings or to the usual break from our stresses.  Otakuism, as others may call it, will have very subjective definitions as we deal with our fixes daily paces.
